Speakeasy Sessions
FUN NEWS! We are launching a new series called “Speakeasy Sessions” every Tuesday and Thursday upstairs at the Reading Room. Our upstairs space will be open from 1-2pm for lunch and community. We will be posting open discussion questions and welcome folks to come in and just chat while they take a lunch break. Look for silly prompts (what is an absolute do not on your family’s Mac and Cheese) to book quotes or art appreciation or news articles. Topics will be ever changing and light. We’re just looking for a little community, a little lunch time banter, some good food and happy people. In these post covid, work from home, new transplants to Katonah, cold winter days, we are seeking light and smiles and new friends. Join us. No reservation necessary.
The series begins this Thursday, January 26th. The prompt is "That's the thing about books. They let you travel without moving your feet." From "The Namesake" by Jhumpa Lahiri. Where are you wishing you were right now? What book has taken you places you want to add to your travel list? What’s the further place you’ve ever been? What’s your favorite destination in the world. Fun chatter, new friends, community, a cup of coffee. People’s faces. Come out, come out. We’re here and ready to welcome you.
