Community Center of Northern Westchester

The official statement:

OUR MISSION: The Community Center of Northern Westchester seeks to improve the well-being and self-sufficiency of neighbors in need in Northern Westchester by providing food, clothing, programs, and other resources. We are committed to treating all with dignity and respect. We encourage broad involvement and participation by residents and organizations in the communities we serve. HOW WE HELP: CCNW provides supplemental food in our pantry, gently used clothing, shoes and linens in our boutique; assistance with access to other resources, including health care, education, and social services; and classes and programs designed to help our neighbors achieve self-sufficiency and improve quality of life for the entire family. Our services are offered FREE OF CHARGE to all residents in Northern Westchester who need help – new arrivals as well as residents with deep roots in our community. All client information is treated with strictest confidence and respect for the privacy of the individual. We are supported by 43 religious, civic, and educational organizations, and sustained by the generosity of the greater Northern Westchester community.

Why we support the Community Center:

The Community Center of Northern Westchester is at the core of our community. When we first moved to the area it was a tiny little “engine that could”, collecting dry goods and clothes and has grown to house a food pantry, a huge donation center for clothes and baby goods, plus classes and support and job learning and even a retail store. They send volunteers to collect the food we have left at the end of day and put it in the hands of those in need, helping to allow us to put it to good use as well as making our kitchen sustainable and zero waste! Nothing feels better than that. Do you have something to donate? A way to give? Check them out and get involved.
