All Fours, Miranda July
A strangely subversive tale of middle age. The desperate need to find oneself in relation or out of one, to try to survive motherhood and the traumas that it both brings and reminds us of, and that over large billboard sign in your head that starts flashing “Menopause ahead: beware the twists and turns”. Graphically sexual and body focused, but still emotional and heady. A fascinating read.
