Beam Paints & Kelly the Fabulous

My friend Kelly and I are obsessed with Beam paints. Like really, really obsessed. I wandered into a tiny art store in Marfa, Texas on a road trip a few months ago and discovered a life changing watercolor paint. Perhaps you’ll think I exaggerate, but really, I’m not kidding, they’re amazing. They are beautiful and magical and inspiring. Beam paints are made in Canada and shipped plastic free and sent from the heavens to us here in Katonah. They contain the purest, most vibrant colors and many of them also have a sustainable mica that actually makes them shine, it’s so so much fun to work with. I started painting with them because I couldn’t resist buying the ADORABLE pods they come in…and then FORCED Kelly to try them. Like actually, I forced her. Now she’s obsessed and uses them in her own painting, and finds them as calming and special as I do. So now I’m selling her paintings too. Check out what she’s done with her painting and the variety of ways she has created with them. Come gather her paintings, or start painting for yourself. Follow Kelly at www.kellyschwark.com and watch her absolutely mesmerizing painting reels for inspiration.

A description from Beam Paints: “Indigenous handmade paint that is vegan and eco-friendly. Beam Paints is the result of a multi-generational love of pigment, paint, colour, and innovation. I was raised by my artist parents, Carl Beam and Ann Beam, and was taught from a young age how to harvest hematite pigment in the LaCloche mountain range near our home in M'Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island. Beam Paints draws on my early educations in Indigenous pigment and expands it to encompass all paint traditions. A focus on high quality pigment content creates sublime artist materials, with plastic free packaging.”

Come check them out here in Katonah and ask for advice, we can’t wait to talk about them and get you hooked too.
