Summer Skies

Playing with paints on a summer Sunday. Here’s a fun painting exercise…

1) Cover whole paper with water with a large brush.

2) Paint alternating stripes of light and dark blue. Add touches of greens and different blues for variety. Dry with hair drier or wait until fully dry. Add silver or gold flecks for shimmer.

3) Add small hills and tiny trees in dark colors or mars black. Use varying brush wetness to create the shadowy blacks or forward darker blacks.

4) Cover trees with tissue to protect. Use acrylic or gauche white and a wet brush. Tap brush over painting to create stars.
