Travel log: Provincetown

I love this town. I really do. It’s touristy and fun and full of rainbow flags and happy couples enjoying the scene. It’s a hell drive, but take a couple days mid-week and you’ll be happy as the clams you’re bound to eat. For this adventure we were traveling with three college aged kids. I’m not sure I’d bother to go with young kiddos, they just might not get it.

To do:

Beach walks for the rock obsessed. We walked the beach and found the most spectacular beach rocks of all shapes, sizes and colors. The beaches are all part of the National Parks so pay for one and access all for the day. Brilliant!

Whale watching, sea lion stalking, bird viewing. Nature is everywhere. We saw whales right off the beach blowing water in the air. So magical. Take a boat ride for a closer peek.

To stay:

We have an RV but you could tent camp as well. Tucked in behind town with a walking path straight to town or an easy bike ride, check out Coastal Acres Camp Ground for a super fun camp experience. The town is also packed with BNBs, Inns, and the cutest little houses.

To eat:

We had a good dinner at The Squealing Pig. Typical vacation pub fair but tasty and cute.

Breakfast at Liz’s Cafe. So so good. Perfect eggs Benedict choices, chicken and waffles and any egg you can imagine. Yum!!! Don’t miss this spot.

Bookstore: Tim’s Used Books off Commerce Street. Hidden down a vine laden path, Tim’s books is tucked in right off the Main Street. Piles of books happily meandering around corners, up to the ceilings and tumbling off shelves. If you love to browse and find fascinating things, take a minute to head in here. No trip is complete without a bookstore stop!
