“Best Thing I Ate This Week”

Jeanne Muchnick, food writer and avid reader, called out our specialty toasts this week in her series “Best Thing I Ate This Week”. She’d been craving our “Very Berry” Toast since last summer and stopped by for a chat and taste, but we couldn’t let her leave without sharing the whole menu…because, well, we get excited. So we put the Heirloom Tomato Toast in front of her, but seriously you can’t try that and leave out the “Dilly Toast” a house made dill hummus with cucumber, pickled onion, and crispy chick peas. I’m afraid I also forced her into a bite of the Thai Peanut Wrap and of course, if you’re going to taste the wraps, you need a bite of the Farro Salad…so we overwhelmed her and I believe the “Best Thing” may have become the “Best Things” with a three way tie between her classic favorite, avocado toast with egg, the Very Berry blueberry and brie toast, and the Heirloom Tomato with ricotta, pesto and balsamic drizzle…all fresh, all made to order with each ingredient hand picked for optimal tastiness and prepped right here in our kitchen. Big thanks to Jeanne and LoHud for taking the time to check out our menu, grab some great books and share with their readers. The article is online and will be in print this week as well. Grab your paper, check out Jeanne’s thoughts and come for some toast when you can decide which one(s) to try.
